Crayon Leaf Rubbings

It's Autumn! We have been noticing all of the Autumn leaves changing colour and falling down lately.

We read a book called 'That's When I'm Happy' and the baby bear in the book is happy when he is collecting Autumn leaves.

Mrs Loye brought in some leaves - some were fresh and green, and some were dry and crunchy.
We made crayon leaf rubbings by:

1. Putting the leaf down on the paper with the bumpy side facing up
2. Putting a piece of paper over top
3. Rubbing a crayon sideways across the paper, making sure to hold the leaf still

Check out our awesome work! Do you love all of the colours we used?

  1. Wow Pūkeko we like your pictures. We love all the colours especially the ones that used two colours on the same leaf. We might have to try it with some of the leaves around our school, we have lots of big trees with leaves falling off them. We might have to look for that book at our library aswell.
