This term we have really enjoyed exploring maths learning with Numicon.
We are very good at naming the number and colour of the Numicon shapes.
We like covering the baseboards with the shapes - it is a bit like doing a puzzle when we have to find the pieces that will fit nicely together.
We also enjoy making pictures and patterns with the rods. We can talk about the colours of the rods when we use them. It is fun using our imaginations and being creative to make different rod creations.
Now we have started using the pegs to make the Numicon shapes. Some of us can even remember how to make the shapes without copying them.
We are looking forward to learning more with our Numicon next term!
