In Week 9, Pūkeko learned about Matariki. We learned that it is a group of stars that appears in the sky at this time of year. It signals the start of Maori New Year.
We watched some cool videos that help teach us about Matariki, like this one:
We also made some Matariki star. We made one using crayons, and scratched it to look like colourful fireworks in the black sky. We made one using glue and glitter - we brought this one home. We made the third one using felts with any design we wanted.
