This week for our Maths Hot Spot we have been talking about colours and shapes. On Wednesday we had a go at making some of the different shapes we have been learning about with popsicle sticks. It was easy to make triangles, diamonds, squares and rectangles. It was a bit trickier to make stars, pentagons and hexagons. We worked out that we couldn't make circles, ovals, hearts or semi-circles since they have round sides. What shapes can you see? How many sides do they have? How many corners? Maybe you could have a go at making shapes with something you have at home or at school.
