Part of our learning this term has been about our place and what is around us. We have learnt about our learning space, Pūkeko, and the other learning spaces in our school: Toroa, Kōtuku, Kererū and Ruru. We have learnt about all the different parts of the school: the hall, the library, the office, the classrooms, the sandpit, the playgrounds, the field, the court and the garden.
Today we got to explore somewhere that is very close to school and part of the Wigram community: Te Kahu Park. We were super excited to get to play on the playground during a school day! We walked with a buddy across the road to the park. The teachers helped us to practise looking left, right and listening to see if we could hear any approaching cars. On the playground we got to play on the big climbing web, the wobbly seats, the long silver slide and on the swings. It was really cool to have some things that are different from what we have on our playgrounds at school.
The Pūkeko teachers were really proud of our great listening to instructions and of the way we took turns and shared over at the park. What a wonderful day!
Hello Pukeko, we like how you are being kind and how you are playing safely. We notice how you are waiting your turn patiently. In Room 4, we do the same and keep our hands and feet to ourselves. From Room 4, Panmure Bridge School.
ReplyDeleteHello Room 4. Thank you for writing us a comment. We are glad you noticed that we were playing safely. Is there a park like ours near your school? What things do you like to play on on your playground? From Pūkeko.
