Pūkeko Art

Today we learned a little bit about Pūkeko. We learned that:

Pūkeko have a blue body, black wings, red legs and a red beak
Pūkeko eat roots, seeds, grasses and sometimes worms and insects
Pūkeko live in swamps and other places near water
Their long legs help them wade through muddy water

We watched a funny song about a Pūkeko:

And then we made some beautiful pūkeko art.

First, we coloured in the pūkeko with pastels. We used blue for the body, black for the wings, and red for the beak and legs.

Then, we painted over the whole piece of paper with coloured water.

Check out our amazing art work and feel free to come into our learning space to see it in person!
